A GLASS OF WATER

Yes you read correctly, Water.

Water is the most common liquid on Earth plus the most abundant. In chemical terms, we’ll say water is made up of 2 molecules of Hydrogen and 1 molecule of Oxygen. But, in a layman’s word, I would say water is what makes up life. For most of my early life, I was not really a fan of consuming water. Trying to be one though. I could go a day (at times 2) without drinking water, not like I wasn’t eating, but I just kept forgetting drinking water.

I said earlier on I am starting to be a water fan, yeah! after I got my insides beat. I can remember then while I was still in school, as usual, I ate without drinking water, sooner had I sat down that my stomach hooked me, I could not stand upright. I walked back to my hostel  bent at an angle 90 with the help of a friend. On getting back to the hostel that night, I drank water like no man’s business, I took 10 sachet of water (Yeah! 10 sachet), and in less than 30 minutes I was fine. Since that day, even if I can’t take a 75cl bottle at once, I’ll keep sipping on that one bottle till I’m done (could take a whole day, but I’m getting there).

My short episode is one of the adverse effects of not taking water, there are other tons, but I am more concerned about its benefit.

  • Water helps the body in detoxification
  • It help refresh the body
  • It aids digestion
  • It help relief menstrual as well as stomach cramps
  • It helps a lot in migraine episodes…I know cos it works for me
  • When served chilled, it’s the best stimulant you could ask for….ask my “garri” drinking brothers, LOL..
  • Promotes weight loss
  • Relieves fatigue.

So the question is; how many glasses of water per day?

Some people say 6, some say 8…. but I would say take it a glass at a time. In a day you could end up taking more or less, but never go a day without taking water, it’s a very dangerous path.

So what do you say?

Time to put down the wine glass?

Take more water, its cheap *winks*
